2022 First Quarter Newsletter and Member Spotlight
January:
January 5th, the 1st Quarter General Membership Meeting was held along with the Board of Directors & Officer installations for 2022.
Outgoing BOD members: Kay Jones, Penny Stallings, Tom Haddon, and Dave Stormont were recognized. Thank you to Daniel Sullivan, Ferguson Enterprises and Austin Kelly, Croatan Custom Homes for serving on the Board the last year and a half.
Blair Meads was inducted as the 2022-2023 OBHBA President and the new Board and Officers were all inducted by Dave Stormont.
January 12th was a great day for COA and the OBHBA. The electrical lab was completed with classes starting on January 19th. After passing out honorary COA Alumni Association certificates and hats to builders Matt Neal, Jake Overton, Duke Geraghty and Dave Stormont, Chris O’Neill from Kellogg Supply Company for their donations, and to COA Instruction Mark Melton, General Manager of Suburban Electric, it was time to cut the wires.

February:
February 10th, First Flight High School held a Trade Expo and invited the OBHBA to attend. Those that were able to participate were: Storm Coast Homes-Dave Stormont, Neal Contracting Group-Matt Neal, Angel Advanced Technologies-Matt & Traci Florez, and One Hour Heating & AC-Butch Hill & Ron Seidman.
February 7th, Stan White, with Stan White Realty & Construction was awarded the Prestigious Order of the Long Leaf Pine Award. The award—which is considered to be North Carolina’s highest award for state service granted by the Office of the Governor—was presented to White during the February 7, 2022, Dare County Board of Commissioners meeting by Chairman Bob Woodard, who spearheaded the efforts to nominate him for the esteemed honor.
The 2nd OBHBA Super Bowl Contest was held on Super Bowl Sunday, February 13th, the winner was, David Whitehurst of Kellogg Supply Co., David picked the Rams with a total score for both teams of 42, and the Rams won with a total score of 43 for both teams.

March:
March 8th, the 1st Quarter NCHBA meeting was held in Raleigh. Those members attending were Blair Meads, David Buchanan, Vaughan Robinson, Jake Overton, Jay Overton, Brian Smith, Duke Geraghty and Phyllis Hobbs (EO).
March 14th, NCHBA Region 2 meeting was held in Washington, NC. Those attending were Duke Geraghty, Joey Austin, David Buchanan, and Phyllis Hobbs.
March 18th was the OBHBA Family Fun Bowling night, sponsored by Atlantic Elevators. It was a lot of fun and nice to see so many OBHBA members having a good time.

It's hard to believe I have been with OBX Chevrolet Buick for 8.5 years already. It has been such a great honor to guide our company because of the wonderful team I inherited and from the talent we have been able to acquire during my tenure.
